Our Process

1 :: The Planning Stage

So, you have decided that now is the right time for you to do a kitchen renovation project. Take this time to gather photos, must have ideas, appliance requirements, and most importantly determine your budget. This information will allow you and your designer to align your renovation goals when designing your new space.

2 :: Consultation

We generally recommend an initial meeting with a member of the kitchen concepts design team in our showroom. During this consultation, we will show you the quality of our work. This is also the time where we will have some initial discussions on your wants, needs, wishes and dreams for your project.

3 :: Design

A member of the kitchen concepts design team will visit your home to take appropriate measurements of your space. This information will be brought back to the office where preliminary drawings and budget pricing are produced.  This process can take anywhere from a couple of days to a week or more depending on the size of your project.

Once completed, we will invite you back to our showroom where the real conversation begins. We will discuss our vision for your project and work through any changes, questions, or concerns you may have.

We will repeat this process until we have a final plan that you were happy with.

4 :: Contract

Once we have a plan, we will finalize all of the details and put together a sales contract. At this time, your first deposit of 50% will be due.

5 :: Final measure

Once you have finalized your selections and signed off on your drawings, elevations appliance specifications and contract, we will arrange to have a final measure taken should it be required.

6 :: Build

Once your final drawings are approved by you, they are submitted into the shop for production. Depending on the complexity of your project, the average build time required in the shop is 6 to 8 weeks. This is the opportunity for your plumber, electrician, floor layer, and other trades people to come in and perform all necessary tasks ahead of the installation process.

7 :: Removal and Disposal of Existing Cabinets

For an addition cost, Kitchen Concepts offers the opportunity to have your existing cabinets and countertops removed and disposed of, recycled, or re-installed in other areas of your home (such as your garage or basement).

8 :: Delivery

Your cabinets will generally be delivered by our team the morning of installation. We will need an appropriate space to place the cabinets outside of, but with easy access from, the installation area.

9 :: Installation

Our factory trained installer will generally be on site early morning to help deliver the cabinets unloading his tools. He will require a covered outside area where he can set up his tools to make cuts as necessary.  Depending on the size of your project, installation may take anywhere from three or more days.

10 :: Countertops

On day three of the installation, we will generally have the countertop company take measurements to minimize delays on that end. Please be aware that countertops are generally 2-3 weeks after measure to installation.  During this time, you will not have access to running water in your kitchen and recommend planning accordingly.

11 :: Completion

Most kitchens rarely get delivered and installed in one visit. Service calls and miscellaneous parts are required for most jobs. Consider this: each box has up to 20 build components in it and sometimes will need to be fixed or replaced. This can be due to a measurement error, build error, shipping damage, installation error, other trade damage, etc. The time frame can vary depending on the part that needs to be replaced or repaired.

Above all else, please remember that Kitchen Concepts is 100% committed to the successful completion of your project.
